Chocolate Covered Peeps Treat (Printable)

Marshmallow Peeps coated in smooth chocolate with optional decorations for a fun treat.

# What You'll Need:

→ Marshmallow

01 - 12 Peeps marshmallow candies, any shape or color

→ Chocolate Coating

02 - 7 oz semisweet or milk chocolate chips, or chopped chocolate
03 - 1 tbsp coconut oil or vegetable shortening

→ Decorations

04 - Sprinkles, crushed nuts, or colored sugar as desired

# Directions:

01 - Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or wax paper and set aside.
02 - Combine chocolate chips and coconut oil in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring thoroughly after each, until completely smooth and melted. Alternatively, use a double boiler over low heat, stirring constantly.
03 - Insert a skewer or toothpick into the base of each Peep to create a handle for easier dipping.
04 - Holding the skewer, dip each Peep into the melted chocolate, turning to ensure complete coverage. Gently tap against the bowl edge to remove excess chocolate.
05 - Place coated Peeps on the prepared baking sheet. Immediately sprinkle with decorations while chocolate is still wet.
06 - Let chocolate set at room temperature for 30 minutes, or refrigerate for 10-15 minutes until firm.
07 - Remove skewers carefully. Serve immediately or package in an airtight container for gifting.
